This article examines the issues of increasing the investment attractiveness of the regions in expanding the attraction of foreign investment to the economy. In particular, a comparative study of the research conducted by economists to determine the economic potential of the country / region, methods of its assessment and the attractiveness of the investment climate in the regions. Moreover, the analysis of factors affecting investment activity, investment potential and investment attractiveness in the case of Uzbekistan is revealed on the basis of statistical data by regions. Scientific and methodological recommendations have been developed to ensure the smooth development of the regions, to further increase the country's position in international indexes conducted by international economic organizations, to eliminate problems and shortcomings that hinder the investment climate and to increase the investment attractiveness of regions.
