Annotatsiya

The article is analyzed the role and cultural meanings of somatisms in the English and Uzbek languages in the artistic context. Units such as "heart", "eye", "hand" are compared, and their figurative and connotative meanings are shown. As a result, although somatisms in both languages have a common semantic basis, in English they express personal feelings, and in Uzbek - moral and social values.
