This article examines the role of the Japanese language in the formation of national ideology. Language is viewed not only as a means of communication but also as a significant social factor embodying national identity, historical memory, and cultural values. The study highlights how social hierarchy, collectivism, moral norms, and the distinction between “insiders” and “outsiders” are constructed through language in Japanese society. Particular attention is paid to the keigo system, indirect speech forms, and the uchi–soto concept as key mechanisms through which the ideological function of the Japanese language is realized. Furthermore, within the framework of Nihonjinron discourse, the close relationship between language and national identity is analyzed, along with the historical roots and social foundations of these ideas. The article also explores the political, cultural, and psychological factors that have influenced the development of Japanese national ideology, emphasizing the role of language in legitimizing nationalist narratives.
