This article analyzes the main characteristics of autobiographical discourse and the distinctive features of the genre. Autobiography is a narrative in which the author recounts their own life, reflecting personal experiences, inner world, and real-life events. The key features of this genre include the unity of the author and the protagonist, proximity to reality, chronological sequence, subjective approach, and the combination of artistic and realistic styles. Additionally, the article explores the significance of autobiography in conveying social and cultural contexts. The research of Uzbek literary scholars dedicated to the study of the autobiographical genre is also highlighted, particularly the works of Dilmurod Qurbonov, Darmonoy Urayeva, and Dilrabo Quvvatova. This article serves as an important source for understanding the role of autobiography in the literary process.
