This article analyses how language and thought influence each other. Language and thought are closely related processes. Whether language affects thought or, conversely, thought affects language remains unresolved among scholars. The article discusses when the relationship between language and thought became an issue, examining the perspectives of ancient linguistics on this matter. It also investigates the views of European linguists like Humboldt and Sapir on the connection between language and thought. Additionally, the article analyzes how language influences thought and how thought manifests in language, using the examples of the Japanese and Uzbek languages. As a result, it shows that the path from language to thought shapes and expands individual thinking, while the path from thought to language reveals the unique worldviews of different peoples.
