In the process of globalization, sports are not only a socio-cultural phenomenon but also a field that is being studied from a linguistic perspective. Sports terminology plays an important role in enriching the vocabulary of national languages, in the processes of word formation, and in international communication. In the formation of sports-related terms in Uzbek and English, both similarities and differences are observed, as they are created through affixation, composition, abbreviation, semantic extension, and borrowed words. This study aims to explore the word- formation processes of sports terms in the parallelism of these two languages and to identify their linguistic features.
