This article examines the importance of asparagus bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in ensuring food security, its origin and geographical distribution, as well as its morpho-biological characteristics. The study analyzes the crop’s agrobiological traits, vegetation period, yield potential, and its ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen. The possibilities of cultivating asparagus bean as a double crop under the conditions of the Samarkand region are scientifically substantiated, along with the influence of sowing dates and planting rates on productivity. The need to improve cultivation technologies under climate change conditions is also highlighted.
