This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the historical evolution of mechanisms for improving industrial enterprise structure. The transformation pathway from the state model of industrial policy (Sweden, South Korea, China) to cluster-network approaches (Germany, Italy, Finland) is investigated. The foreign experience of developed and developing countries - specifically, the South Korean chaebol model, the “Third Italy” industrial district phenomenon, and China’s special economic zone strategy - is assessed in terms of adaptation opportunities for the modernisation of Kashkadarya region’s industry. The research results define ways to adapt foreign experience in forming a mechanism for improving industrial structure under Uzbekistan’s conditions.
