This article analyzes the importance of the tourism sector in the sustainable development of the regional economy. The existing system of indicators used in the assessment of tourism is studied and their shortcomings are identified. On this basis, a system of integrated indicators covering economic, social and environmental factors is proposed. The proposed approach serves to comprehensively assess the impact of the tourism sector on regional development and improve strategic planning.
