Euphemisms in the literary text have the variety of functions which were investigated by sush linguists as Y.K. Temirbaeva, B.A. Larin, V.P. Moskvin and others. In this article the big amount of examples from literary text was analyzed and there were found the following functions: politeness, creating an ironical effect, hiding the truth, replacing taboo words, avoiding repetitions and etc.
