This article examines the psychological characteristics of pre-competition stress in highly qualified athletes, its impact on sports performance, and the effectiveness of methods for reducing stress. The study involved 30 athletes aged 18–25 years. According to the analysis, the high level of anxiety decreased from 68.0±2.1% to 39.0±1.9% (p < 0.05). This confirms the effectiveness of psychological training sessions.
