This article investigates the effect of planting time and seedling age on the degree of plant loss in onion under intermediate cropping conditions. The research was conducted during 2021–2023 using seedlings aged 25, 35 and 45 days at different planting times. The results showed that the lowest plant loss (5.2%) was observed when 45-day-old seedlings were planted early (September 21–25). As planting time was delayed and seedling age decreased, the degree of plant loss increased. The highest plant loss (10.3%) was recorded when 25-day-old seedlings were planted on October 20–25. The obtained results are important for optimizing onion cultivation technology in intermediate cropping systems.
