Annotatsiya

This article is devoted to considering the principle of economy as one of the key factors determining the sound system of the Russian language. The main manifestations of this principle at the phonetic level are analyzed, including vowel and consonant reduction, assimilation, dissimilation, and elision. Special attention is paid to the mechanisms through which the desire to minimize articulatory efforts influences pronunciation and leads to historical changes in the language, while preserving the communicative function of speech.
