This article explores how the concept of karahiyyah (disapproval) is presented in the jurisprudential works of the Hanafi school. It analyzes the different terminologies used for chapters on karahiyyah, the lexical and technical definitions of the term, distinctions between makruh tahrimi and makruh tanzihi, and its application in matters of food, clothing, family, and social life. Furthermore, the article highlights the ethical and social significance of karahiyyah in guiding human behavior.
