This article analyzes the metaphors of endearment in William Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’, focusing on their Uzbek translations, the translation strategies employed, and the factors of cultural adaptation. Metaphors expressing affection serve as an important artistic means of conveying human emotions, love, and sincerity in translation. Since they encompass not only linguistic but also cultural components, the translator faces the challenge of preserving semantic, tonal, and emotional balance. Furthermore, the article examines the levels of equivalence and adequacy achieved in the translation.
