This study investigates the technological capabilities of hybrid laser–GMAW welding for joining 8-mm-thick A304 stainless steel pipes, with particular emphasis on heat-affected zone (HAZ) evolution and weld quality. Optimal combinations of laser power and arc energy were selected to improve weld pool stability, reduce porosity formation, and ensure full penetration at the root. A series of experiments was conducted to evaluate the effects of welding speed, laser power, and heat-source positioning on weld bead geometry, microstructure, hardness, and mechanical properties.
