This article defines the terms hyperbola and the stylistic trope anti-hyperbola as opposed to it, and illustrates the differences in English and Uzbek with examples. The linguistic field of the conceptual semantics of anti-hyperbole "understatement" is illustrated by comparison in Uzbek and English with the help of examples of verbal means. The stylistic figures associated with the anti- hyperbola are also described in terms of the differences between litotes and meiosis, which are explained by examples from the opinions of researchers. The actuality of the article lies in the fact that the new mixed (syncretic) forms of the concept of anti-hyperbole "understatement" are expressed in examples in Uzbek and English.
