One of the modern directions of linguistics is pragmalinguistics - a modern linguistic direction that studies the possibilities of linguistic units resulting from the influence of a number of factors, such as the situation, context and general knowledge of speakers about the object of speech. The information conveyed during a conversation is a means of achieving a communicative goal. The success of the encounter depends on the extent to which this goal is achieved. There will be moments between the participants in a dialogue or between the writer and the reader that hinder mutual understanding. This in turn creates a pragmatic barrier. The article deals with pragmatic barrier, one of the important issues of Uzbek pragmatics. It is known that pragmatic barrier arises as a result of a number of factors, particularly linguistic and extra-linguistic influences. Linguistic factors include a number of factors such as word usage errors, inappropriate use of words, use of words beyond their dictionary meaning, unfamiliarity with dialect words and misunderstanding of industry terms. This paper discusses several factors that contribute to pragmatic barriers.
