This paper explores the newspaper style as a distinct functional style in modern English. The study examines the syntactic, lexical, and stylistic characteristics that define newspaper language. By reviewing existing literature and analyzing selected newspaper texts, the study outlines the functional features that distinguish newspaper style from other types of discourse. The findings highlight the interplay between information delivery, stylistic economy, and audience engagement that underpin the newspaper style. The study contributes to the field of functional stylistics by offering empirical and theoretical insights into the distinctive communicative strategies employed in print journalism.
