This article presents an ethnolinguistic analysis of proverbs based on clothing terms in English and Uzbek languages. The study explores the cultural, historical, and symbolic meanings of clothing terms, highlighting their role and significance in the cultures of both peoples. Uzbek clothing terms such as chopon, to‘n, etik, and belbog‘ reflect socio-cultural values, historical memory, and the worldview of the Uzbek people. English clothing-related proverbs were also analyzed, focusing on the representation of cultural values, social relations, and mentality through language. Comparative analysis identified both similarities and differences between the clothing-related proverbs of the two languages, emphasizing the practical significance of ethnolinguistics. The research results provide a deeper understanding of the interconnection between language and culture, and reveal intercultural differences in the symbolic units expressing everyday life, ethical values, and social behaviors. By comparing the ethnocultural aspects of clothing-related terms in English and Uzbek, intersections between linguistics and cultural studies are further explored. Through this article, we will learn the differences and similarities between proverbs about clothing in English and Uzbek.
