This article examines the issues of improving the professional competence of basketball coaches and physical education teachers. It analyzes the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan after independence in the field of physical education and sports, as well as their role and importance in promoting a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation. The article reveals the theoretical and methodological aspects of teaching basketball, focusing on the formation of pedagogical, cognitive, communicative, and motivational skills among future coaches and teachers. Furthermore, the technical and tactical components of basketball, the step-by-step training methods, and the psychophysical effects of exercises are scientifically substantiated. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical training in the professional development of basketball coaches.
