The article analyzes the results of the study of the role of active swing of arms, head and body from bottom to top in ensuring the height of the vertical jump from the spot in volleyball players. It is established that with the consistent exclusion of the swinging movement of arms, head and body is accompanied by a pronounced decrease in the level of jumping ability and this reveals the importance of the principle “developing jumping ability, it is necessary to teach the technique of jumping with all its components”.
