In modern Russian, there are three main groups of words that reflect the dynamics of its development: neologisms, historicisms, and archaisms. New phenomena come into the language, which is a natural process. However, it is also natural for certain words to become obsolete, which are falling out of active use, since the realities they denote are no longer relevant in people's lives. These changes form a rich and complex picture of language evolution. Neologisms are new words or expressions that appear as a result of scientific and technological progress, cultural changes and the influence of social processes. They can arise due to borrowing, word formation, or reinterpretation of the meanings of already existing words. Over time, many neologisms become common and lose their novelty. Historicisms, on the contrary, denote objects, phenomena and concepts that have disappeared from everyday life. They may differ in the type of obsolescence: lexical, semantic, phonetic, morphological, or syntactic. The study of neologisms, historicisms, and archaisms allows for a better understanding of the processes taking place in language, as well as its interaction with cultural and social changes.
