Following the abolition of the Khiva Khanate on February 2, 1920, the Khorezm People's Soviet Republic (KhPSR) was established on April 26 of that year. This article examines the scholarly issue of international recognition of the KhPSR as an independent state. The topic is particularly relevant because it provides the first insight into the legal, political, and diplomatic aspects of the international recognition of the KhPSR, founded by the Khiva Jadids. The contributions of Babaakhun Salimov, an experienced diplomat, statesman, and courageous son of Khorezm, to the international recognition of the KhPSR are explored. The article uses a research methodology that was formed during the years of independence and aims to provide a comprehensive, objective, scientifically based and historically accurate coverage of the history of Uzbekistan
