Ushbu maqolada miloddan avvalgi IV asrdan milodiy I asrgacha bo'lgan davr mobaynida Xorazm vohasida ibtidoiy sahnaviy unsurlarning shakllanishi va marosimiy tomoshalarning ijtimoiy-madaniy hamda tarixiy asoslari keng ilmiy tahlil qilinadi. Maqolada Xorazm madaniyatiga xos bo'lgan arxaik marosimlar, diniy-mifologik tasavvurlar va ularning sahna san'atiga o'tish jarayonlari o'rganiladi. Tadqiqot manbalari sifatida arxeologik topilmalar, antropologik ma'lumotlar, qadimgi yozma manbalar hamda qiyosiy etnografik materiallardan foydalanilgan. Maqola teatr san'atining ildizlari muammosiga yangicha yondashuv taklif etib, Xorazm vohasini Markaziy Osiyodagi dastlabki teatrga oid an'analarning muhim markazlaridan biri sifatida asoslashga harakat qiladi.
