This article examines the emergence and development of the Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa civilizations on a scientific basis. The specific features of architecture, writing, religious beliefs, and governance in Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa society are highlighted. The article also considers scholarly views on the causes of the civilization’s decline. The results of the research contribute to understanding the role and significance of the ancient Indian civilization in the history of world civilization.
