This article analyzes the changes and challenges faced by the public education system in Surkhandarya region during the Second World War, as well as the measures taken to address them. Based on scholarly sources and eyewitness accounts, it highlights how the mobilization of teachers to the front, school closures, and the conscription of students for forced labor seriously disrupted the educational process. The study also examines the support provided to the defense fund, the mobilization of youth to factory-based schools, the intensification of propaganda activities, and the impact of cultural and educational initiatives on education.
