Annotatsiya

This article presents a comprehensive feminist linguistic analysis of female representation in Margaret Drabble’s novel A Summer Bird-Cage, examining how language functions as a key mechanism in constructing, reinforcing, and challenging gender identities within a patriarchal social framework. Drawing upon contemporary feminist linguistic theories and literary criticism, particularly the works of Cameron (2001), Mills (2008), and Butler (2004), the study investigates the interplay between narrative voice, metaphor, dialogue, and evaluative language in shaping the portrayal of female subjectivity.
