В статье представлена информация об эволюции представлений о социальных технологиях, ее значении, развитии и этапах. Актуальность проблемы изучения социальных технологий в обществе подчеркивается осознанием изменений, происходящих в социально-экономическом пространстве. К таким изменениям относятся, прежде всего, повышение роли человеческого капитала в экономической сфере, изменение параметров, а также характера социально-экономической динамики современного общества, ускорение рыночных процессов, экономические последствия глобализация, информационно-коммуникационные технологии и основанные на них системы управления информационными процессами в обществе на базе распространения и возникновения беспрецедентных изменений в социально-экономической среде, а также на всех уровнях систем управления.
