This article analyzes the historical development of the city of Termez based on historical sources and scientific literature. The formation of the city as one of the important political, economic, cultural and religious centers of Central Asia since ancient times is highlighted. Also, the geographical location of Termez, its role in the development of urban planning, trade and crafts, its position in Islamic civilization, and the specific aspects of the defense system are scientifically described.
