This article is dedicated to the historiography of the mission of A.F. Negri, sentto Bukhara as an ambassador of the Russian Empire. The article discusses the tasksand purpose of this mission. Various approaches put forward by researchers in theprocess of studying the history of this mission, revealing its significance in thehistory of relations between Bukhara and Russia, were analyzed. Furthermore, thestudy revealed different perspectives on the results of A.F. Negri's mission, moreprecisely, his diplomatic failure, using primary sources.
