During the Late Bronze–Early Iron Age, the Ferghana Valley emerged as oneof the most developed agricultural centers of Central Asia, with the Chust cultureserving as a core component of this transformation. Archaeological andpaleobotanical evidence reveals a transition from semi-subterranean dwellings, pastoral activities, and floodplain farming to surface architecture and increasinglycomplex irrigation systems. Findings from Turaqurgan, Kosonsay, Norin, andKoshtеpa-2 indicate well-established practices of cereal cultivation, harvesting, storage, and processing. Stone sickles, ash layers, carbonized grains, andhousehold features collectively confirm that the Ferghana Valley functioned as astable and advanced agrarian center from early antiquity.
