This article analyzes the role of the category of time in linguistics and its study based on various approaches. The grammatical, semantic, comparative-typological, and psycholinguistic aspects of the concept of time are examined, and the characteristics of time expression in different languages are compared. Additionally, the formation of time through morphological and syntactic means, as well as its logical and cognitive foundations, is also investigated. The paper discusses the interrelation of structural, functional, and modern cognitive approaches in analyzing the category of time.
