This article explores the theoretical and practical foundations of developing professional competence among future tourism specialists within the process of English language teaching. It defines the concept of professional competence, its structural components, and emphasizes the importance of communicative and cultural elements in foreign language instruction. The paper suggests modern interactive methods and professionally oriented tasks to enhance competence among tourism students. The findings contribute to identifying effective strategies for improving language proficiency, professional communication, and practical skills among future tourism professionals.
