This article is devoted to a deep analysis of the expression of the “Lost Generation” concept in both English and Uzbek literature, as well as to its historical, cultural, psychological, and sociological roots, using an interdisciplinary approach and methodological principles. In English literature, within the context of the historical crisis and cultural transformations emerging during World War I, the complex facets of the “Lost Generation” phenomenon are reflected through extreme psychological traumas, hopelessness, and the complete breakdown of personal identity. In Uzbek literature, on the other hand, the “Lost Generation” concept is reinterpreted through the inner restlessness, psychological crisis, and the intricate layers of personal identity resulting from the cultural transformations, the reformation of values, and social changes that occurred during the Soviet period and the process of independence. The study employs chronological, comparative, sociological, and psychological analytical methods to examine the internal struggles and psychological traumas represented in literary works, thereby revealing the role of the “Lost Generation” concept in reflecting the evolution of human culture and the unique dynamics of modern social life.
