This article presents the results of assessing improved aridity indices in the agrolandscapes of Jizzakh region for the period 2021–2024, based on the components of the water balance at the district level. Table 2 shows that the analysis of the modified aridity index, calculated with consideration of water balance components, yields values mainly in the range of 1.2–1.6 for total areas, while in irrigated areas it reaches 2.0–3.0 in some districts, indicating a high level of water resource deficit and drought potential during the vegetation period. These results confirm the necessity of introducing watersaving irrigation technologies and implementing adaptive water resource management, especially in the districts of Zomin, Zafarabad, Arnasay, and Mirzachul.
