This article is devoted to the problem of intertextuality, which is always considered to be one of the most important issues in linguistics. The causes and factors of the emergence of the concept of intertextuality, the opinions of international and local linguists who worked on this concept, and the basis of its use in the literary text are discussed. It also talks about various stylistic tools and linguistic, pragmatic, parameological signs used as units of intertextuality. Differences and similarities of the term that is in the center of the discussion with close concepts are also explained with theoretical and practical grounds.
