This article is dedicated to studying the etymology, cultural and historical roots of the concept of "guest" in the Uzbek language. The role of the concept of a guest in the social life, values, and customs of the Uzbek people is analyzed. The origin of the word "guest" is explained based on scientific sources. The values of hospitality in the national traditions of the Uzbek people are also highlighted. The article shows the importance of hospitality in the national identity of our people and highlights its place in today's cultural life.
