If you pay attention to the definition of the lexeme of futurology, given in Wikipedia: Futurology (lat. futurum - future and...logy) - in a broad sense - a general concept or set of ideas about the future of humanity, universal human problems; in a narrow sense, it is a field of science that makes it possible to predict the future of social processes and processes related to the development of science and technology. The article explores the dual nature of innovation in the context of futurology, a field of science that studies the future of humanity and its social and technological aspects. Futurology, as indicated in the article, is divided into two main directions: environmental pessimism, which predicts the negative consequences of human development, and scientific and technological optimism, which sees technological progress as a way to save human civilization. The article discusses these opposing views and presents an analysis of current innovations and their impact on the future of society.
