Analysis of a corpus of idioms and phrases related to women and femininity reveals common themes, values and stereotypes in both languages. A comparative approach reveals similarities and differences in the portrayal of women based on historical, social and cultural contexts. The results of the study highlight the universal aspects of the feminine concept, although cultural nuances shape the corresponding phraseology.
