The purpose of this study was to study the problems faced by student translators at the Uzbek State University of World Languages when translating medical texts, as well as teachers’ perceptions of these problems. The study was based on a quantitative descriptive approach, data were collected through a questionnaire survey of one hundred translation teachers. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS software. The results showed that understanding the structure of medical terms can facilitate the translation process, while inexperience and lack of training of translators can lead to difficulties in accurately transmitting medical texts. The study highlights the need to improve translation training programs and methods, especially in the area of medical terminology and expressions. To improve the quality of translation, it is proposed to integrate a bilingual introduction to basic medical terms into a comprehensive medical translation course.
