This article deals with Christopher Marlowe's drama "Tamburlaine the Great" introduces us to a world of ambition, power, and conquest. The play, which is set against the backdrop of the fourteenth century, is a major work of Elizabethan drama. By depicting Tamburlaine, the main character, as a cunning and charming conqueror, Marlowe examines the idea of a "great person" and its social ramifications. The play explores the intricacies of human nature and the quest for greatness, emphasizing the conflict between morality and ambition. Examining the lexico-semantic quirks of the concept of a "great person" in "Tamburlaine the Great," we find that Marlowe uses a variety of linguistic and semantic techniques to illustrate the complex character of this term.
