This article discusses the lexical, semantic, structural, and etymological features of English proverbs. In particular, the variants of English proverbs in Uzbek, and their semantic and structural features are analyzed. Also described are studies on the etymology and lexical and semantic characteristics of proverbs, such as synonyms, antonyms, and variants.
