METHODS FOR IMPROVING EFFICIENCY THROUGH MODELING AND SIMULATION OF SATELLITE COMMUNICATION CHANNELS

This article discusses methods for modeling and analyzing satellite communication channel characteristics. Simulations were conducted using MATLAB/Simulink, NS-3, and STK tools based on AWGN, Rayleigh, Rician, and hybrid models for GEO and LEO scenarios. The average SNR was 19.7 dB in the GEO–Tashkent channel, and a decrease of up to 11.3 dB in the rain zone. The BER values ​​for QPSK and 16-QAM modulations were 2.3×10⁻³ (10 dB) and 4.1×10⁻³ (15 dB), respectively. In the LEO (1,200 km) scenario, the maximum Doppler shift reached ±190 kHz. The availability decreased to 87% at 25 mm/h and 74% at 50 mm/h.
