The article discusses the pedagogical potential of sport clubs for developingstudents’ social activity and healthy lifestyle competence. Sport participation is not assumed toproduce positive outcomes automatically; developmental effects depend on the coaching climate, team norms, student autonomy, safety, family and community support, and explicit transfer ofsport-based skills to everyday life. A model of personal choice, competence experience, teambelonging, social responsibility and life transfer is proposed, together with peer support, sportvolunteering, healthy lifestyle mini-projects and reflective portfolios.
