The article examines the possibility of advocates in Uzbekistan joining the supervisory boards of business entities, considering legal and ethical restrictions. An analysis of international experience (USA, Russia, Kazakhstan) shows that this practice is permissible under strict conditions to avoid conflicts of interest. Key risks are highlighted, including threats to advocate’s independence, breaches of advocate-client privilege, and reputational consequences, as well as benefits such as increased transparency and legal oversight. The conclusion proposes a hybrid approach, allowing advocates to join supervisory boards with clear legislative restrictions.
