This article analyzes the cartographic heritage of Ahmad Donish, a prominent 19th-century thinker, statesman, master calligrapher, and scholar. The primary focus is placed on his historical-topographical plan of Bukhara, which is regarded as a unique monument of Central Asian cartography. The study substantiates the significance of Ahmad Donish’s drawings and diagrams in the fields of urban planning, architecture, and irrigation systems as a fundamental source for reconstructing the socio-topographical image of the Bukhara Emirate during that period. The author highlights specific scientific aspects of the map, methods of visualizing urban space, and the practical role of this heritage in the modern restoration of historical sites in the center of Bukhara, as well as in the in-depth study of the region’s urban history.
