This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the development of renewable energy sources (RES) in Uzbekistan, aiming to identify key challenges and opportunities in this field. Our findings indicate that the adoption of RES is strategically significant for Uzbekistan in terms of enhancing energy security and promoting environmental sustainability. To achieve our objectives, we employed a thorough methodological approach, including an analysis of the regulatory framework, technical capacities, and economic factors. Furthermore, our study identifies several obstacles to the development of RES, such as insufficient funding, technological constraints, and the need for improvements in the legislative framework. We also assessed the impact of RES implementation on Uzbekistan's economy and environment. The insights from this study offer valuable guidance for overcoming current challenges and optimizing RES development in the country.
