The article addresses the critical need to protect consumer rights in the digital economy and the growing e-commerce sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan. It explores key issues consumers encounter when purchasing goods and services online, such as misleading information, substandard products, refund challenges, and inadequate legal safeguards. Additionally, it analyzes Uzbekistan’s current legislation on consumer rights and specific regulations aimed at enhancing citizen protection in the digital space. The article highlights the role of the Consumer Rights Protection Agency under the Antimonopoly Committee, which is tasked with enforcing laws, resolving disputes, and monitoring the quality of goods and services. Examples are provided to illustrate the necessity of creating a unified complaint platform and developing mechanisms for international cooperation. The article also offers consumer advice on safeguarding their rights and emphasizes the importance of updating the legislative framework to ensure secure online transactions and build trust in e-commerce as the economy undergoes rapid digitalization.
