This article explores the organization of public administration in the evolving New Uzbekistan, with a focus on information and communication technologies, particularly the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Electronic Government.” The author examines the concept, legal nature, and characteristics of “electronic government” as defined in this law. The article analyzes the definitions of “electronic government” found in the scholarly works of domestic, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and foreign scientists, highlighting both their similarities and novel aspects. Additionally, the article draws comparisons between the terms “electronic government,” “electronic state,” and “electronic public administration.” The author concludes that electronic government (e-government) involves the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) to enhance interactions among government agencies, citizens, and businesses. The experience of developed countries in this area is presented as an example. Furthermore, it is noted that the advancement of digital technologies will significantly improve the quality of services provided to citizens and entrepreneurs through the “electronic government” system, while safeguarding the rights and interests of these stakeholders.
